Masterphonebot AI voice gateway (ERGO)
by ERGO Group (Munich Re)
Market unit: DE
ERGO's third-generation 'Masterphonebot' handles more than 12,000 calls a day in Germany and ERGO's international core markets. It identifies and authenticates callers before an agent joins (insurance number, postcode, date of birth, name), passes caller details to the agent's screen, routes calls to the right team and sends routine requests such as care and hearing aids, powers of attorney, invoice submissions and benefit status to self-service. All of ERGO's call volume runs through one AI platform that can host further bots and generative AI tools; ERGO names Cognigy as its technology partner.

Zurich Gruppe Deutschland works with Parloa, whose AI voice platform automates repetitive customer-service phone enquiries so that staff can concentrate on more complex concerns. Zurich's group AI page (accessed October 2026) lists the collaboration among its AI use cases, stating that Parloa, together with Zurich Group Germany, uses AI voice automation to handle repetitive customer inquiries. No go-live date, call volumes or results have been published, so scale is unconfirmed.
HUK24, the online subsidiary of HUK-Coburg, has run a virtual assistant in the contact and help area of its website since 2017; it is also embedded in the contact form to answer questions before an e-mail is sent. As reported in 2022, it was built on IBM Watson Assistant with Watson Discovery for search, hosted on IBM Cloud in Frankfurt, and about 1.5 million customer inquiries per year went through it; HUK24 monitors answer quality and request volumes with SAS Viya dashboards. In April 2026 HUK-Coburg's CEO said the assistant reduces HUK24's roughly 900,000 annual customer inquiries by more than 30% (about 300,000 cases). It was rated 'best in class' in the 2022 ComputerBild/Statista digital assistant test. HUK-Coburg reports about 60 AI use cases in production overall (2026).
