Shift Technology fraud detection and claims AI (AXA Group)
by AXA · Primary insurer
Market unit: Global
AXA Group has used Shift Technology's AI since 2016 to detect organised and opportunistic insurance fraud, to accelerate the settlement of legitimate claims and, more recently, for AI-driven decisioning in underwriting. According to the March 2026 announcement of a five-year renewal, the collaboration spans 15 countries across Europe, Asia and Latin America; the individual AXA entities are not listed. AXA executives quoted in the release cite results in fraud detection, claims efficiency and customer experience, but no figures are published. Shift received AXA's "Delivering @ Scale" Supplier Award in 2025. Entity-level deployments such as AXA Switzerland's claims fraud detection are catalogued separately.

NiQA is an AI-driven digital assistant of UNIQA for claims reporting, documented on UNIQA's Hungarian website. It listens to the customer's description, identifies the damage type and fills in the claim form in the background, verifies incoming information in real time, analyses uploaded photos as they arrive and checks submitted documents, alerting users to missing items. It currently covers burst pipes, water damage and broken glass and is being extended to further roles; trade press names Intuitech as technology partner.
