GenAI SEO meta descriptions in Magnolia CMS (Baloise)

by Helvetia Baloise (Baloise)

CH, DE, LU, BE

IBM iX integrated ChatGPT into Baloise's Magnolia CMS, after a proof of concept, to propose multilingual SEO meta descriptions. The integration checks existing descriptions for length and language and suggests replacements, which editors accept, adapt or reject; each Baloise country unit can define its own prompts. It is used across numerous Baloise websites, which IBM iX migrated to Magnolia's cloud PaaS in phases (smaller sites, then Germany and Switzerland, then Luxembourg and Belgium). IBM iX reports a more efficient editorial workflow and better meta-description quality but gives no figures. Magnolia's case study now refers to Helvetia (formerly Baloise), with a Helvetia Design System across 16 web tenants; whether the meta-description feature continued after the rebrand is not documented.

Helvetia Seguros in Spain deployed an AI assistant built by Minsait on Salesforce's Agentforce platform to support its insurance intermediaries during the sales process. The assistant searches and interprets product documentation on coverages, risks, exclusions, contracting options and general conditions, identifies which product a question concerns and adapts the length of its answers. Announced on 9 April 2025, it was then used by part of Helvetia's more than 3,400 intermediaries, with roll-out to all planned; the aim is shorter response times to clients and less repetitive work. No results have been published. Helvetia Spain has been a market unit of Helvetia Baloise since the December 2025 merger.

In October 2022 the Zurich-based AI company Unique announced four proofs of concept with Die Mobiliar (La Mobilière). One of them automatically recorded advisory consultations to test the quality of the resulting transcripts and summaries, with the aim of making preparation and follow-up of client meetings more efficient. No results or move to production have been published since; the only source is a vendor blog. Mobiliar's documented productive generative-AI tool is the separate Mobi-ChatGPT employee assistant (since September 2023).

Visana uses an AI voicebot on its customer hotline that asks callers to state their concern in their own words, recognises the topic and routes the call to the matching department or advisor; if the concern is not recognised, the caller is connected to an advisor after a short wait. Visana describes it as extensively tested, in live use and being improved, supporting rather than replacing personal advice. Statements are transcribed, kept for a defined period and then permanently deleted. An Enterprise Bot case study on an unnamed Swiss health insurer with about 1,400 employees (page images labelled 'Visana') describes a speech-to-text and classification routing bot on Genesys with 98% routing accuracy across 8 categories in German, French and Italian; attribution to Visana is unconfirmed.

AXA Switzerland uses Shift Technology's Claims Fraud Detection on motor and property claims, flagging suspicious claims at first notice of loss and re-running fraud models in real time as new claim data is recorded. Over 100 fraud scenarios tuned to the Swiss market and AXA's portfolio combine AXA policy and claims data with government records and national association databases. Generali Switzerland's website chatbot was developed with Enterprise Bot in the innovation garage of its subsidiary HITS. Launched as 'Chatty' on the German site in autumn 2023 and in French, Italian and English in early 2024, it combines Enterprise Bot's DocBrain with ChatGPT to help customers choose policies, answer coverage questions and start claims. Generali's current terms of use name the website chatbot 'Leo', based on DocBrain and GPT-4o via Azure OpenAI in Europe, with step-by-step motor-claim intake. Chatty won the ITC DIAmond Award 2023. Separately, Enterprise Bot email response automation (2021, four languages) automated over 40% of customer emails in its first month (vendor-reported). No current usage figures are published.

SIA ('Smart Insurance Assistant') is the conversational assistant on css.ch, delivered with the website relaunch by Unic and One Inside that won the Master title at Best of Swiss Web 2021. One Inside built the backend: middleware connecting the chat interface, the AI and CSS systems, Google Dialogflow to interpret free-text questions and trigger configured workflows, and a fallback to a SolrCloud-based site search; content is served via Adobe Experience Manager. SIA classifies user intent, gives contextual help on web pages and is designed to personalise answers with context data within privacy limits. No usage metrics are published and no 2024-2026 source confirms its current status; in 2026 CSS commissioned Dept to build a conversational-AI roadmap to 2029.

Sympany has been testing an AI voice assistant on its customer service line since August 2024. The bot answers incoming calls, understands spoken German including Swiss dialect, asks clarifying follow-up questions (for example whether a billing question concerns a premium invoice or a benefits statement) and routes the caller to the right department. No voice profile is stored; the call transcript is used only to identify the concern and is deleted shortly afterwards. Sympany reports qualitatively that callers use the bot, concerns are understood and routed correctly and telephone waiting times have fallen; no figures are published. The vendor is not named; Sympany appears among customer logos on Spitch's website, but a link to this voicebot is unconfirmed.

AXA Switzerland migrated its data lake to Google Cloud in 2021 and runs over 100 Google Cloud projects in production across all business lines, using BigQuery, Vertex AI, Gemini, Cloud Run and Dialogflow; query and processing times fell by over 95%. Concrete AI uses named in Google's case study include extracting key information from complex medical documents and court rulings (from about 25 minutes of specialist reading to seconds), automated claims triage being implemented to route claims needing expert evaluation, and a fraud ruleset that found a CHF 120,000 false claim in its first week. Generative AI is described as in an exploration phase. Figures are vendor-published and undated.

Zurich UK's claims fraud team uses Clearspeed's voice-based risk assessment technology in its claims fraud and validation process. The first deployment covered P&C and warranty/device claims for a high-value client book and was run together with Allied Universal Compliance and Investigations, a long-standing Zurich partner. Zurich has since moved from using it purely as a fraud-detection tool to embedding it as a claims-validation step. Vendor-reported results: 58% of claims accelerated for payment, the claim withdrawal rate up from about 1% to 5%, and a 20% lift in fraud referrals. Zurich's Head of Claims Fraud is quoted in Clearspeed's case study and its June 2025 funding release; no start date has been published.

Groupe Mutuel has integrated Ada Health's AI symptom assessment and care navigation into its customer area and app (section 'My health'), linked to members' single sign-on. Members describe their symptoms and receive an assessment with recommended next steps tied to their insurance plan; for the alternative basic insurance models PrimaFlex and SanaTel, Ada serves as the first point of contact and issues a referral voucher. Announced on 6 November 2024 as available to all of Groupe Mutuel's up to 1.4 million members in Switzerland, in German, French, Italian and English. Ada reports a 59% reduction in members unsure which care to seek and that more than half use it outside normal clinical hours (vendor-reported). Ada does not provide a diagnosis.

Clara GenAI chat and voice assistant (Helvetia)

by Helvetia Baloise (Helvetia)

CH

Clara is Helvetia's digital assistant in Switzerland, in use since 2017; Helvetia and Baloise have since merged. In March 2023 Helvetia, as the first listed insurer to do so, began testing a ChatGPT-based version; after a seven-month pilot it became a standard service in November 2023, using OpenAI GPT models via Microsoft Azure with Helvetia website content as its knowledge base. As of 2026 Clara works as a chat and voice bot on the website, the myHelvetia portal and app, WhatsApp and the service-centre phone line, with Parloa supplying the voice technology, and answers in over 200 languages. Helvetia says over 35% of customers use online claim reporting with Clara, and expected over 150,000 chats in 2023. Clara won bronze at the Swiss Insurance Innovation Award 2023.
